Located a few kilometers from this charming little village crossed by the Hers-Vif river, the intermittent fountain of Fontestorbes is, it seems, one of the most spectacular in the world. It would be known since the Antiquity and even Pline the Elder quoted it already in his writings. A curiosity of nature, the mystery of its intermittence remains. Bélesta also has the most beautiful forest of the Ariège with particularly ancient species. The official name of the inhabitants of Béléaste is: the Bélestariens but since always (that is to say a long time) one always called them the Cabos in reference to a small fish which lives in the waters of the river
