Located on the right bank of the Adour river, Saint-Paul-lès-Dax really came into being with the French Revolution. Under the Third Republic, the small town became an important economic center. The early 19th century heralded a difficult period, with the decline of the metallurgical industry, but after the Second World War, the commune experienced a new boom. Today, Saint-Paul-lès-Dax boasts a number of thermal baths and one of the most modern and efficient fitness centers in Europe.
