In the Middle Ages, Saint-Pandelon was the summer residence of the bishops of Dax. In fact, the bishops' former château, built in the 14th century, is still standing: don't miss a visit! The village also boasts two Capcazalières houses: Maison Luppé and Maison Hountanglaise. These noble homes stand out from the simple farmhouses of the Landes region thanks to the richness of their architecture. Indeed, the landowning families to whom they belonged enjoyed privileges in the Middle Ages, as they were not under the control of any lord and could therefore prosper freely.
