Le Tholy, watered by the river Cleurie, is a village of nearly 1,600 inhabitants located at the gateway to the Ballons des Vosges nature park. The fir and spruce are king and many hikes find their starting point there. For example, towards the Roches Chevaliers, from where you will have a panorama on Le Tholy, La Forge and Julienrupt. Towards the curious circular chapel of Notre-Dame, the view stretches out over the Cleurie valley and the escarpments of Bouvacôte and Chèvre-Roche. The village was born in the 16th century from a strong migration from Alsace. Wood dominates the economy of the region but there is also a cheese factory in the village.
