Port-de-Lanne has long been a port for professional fishermen and boatmen. In 1903, 320,000 tonnes of goods passed through the village. Until the arrival of the railroad, the port was prosperous. The cradle of Colbert's idea of recruiting professional "gabariens" (sailors in the service of the King), Port-de-Lanne was considered the spiritual capital of the Adour. One of the most beautiful 13th-century Gothic churches in the world can still be found here; it is listed on the supplementary inventory of historical monuments. Don't miss the "fête des brocs", which brings together over 400 professional second-hand dealers, antique dealers and second-hand booksellers.
