Uckange is part of the Communauté d'agglomération du Val de Fensch. The town is close to the Lorraine Regional Nature Park and is home to the Garden of Traces, among other things. Classified as a historical monument, the U4 blast furnace with its peripheral installations form a striking emblem of the great economic era of the Fensch valley and thus of Uckange. The first traces of the Uckange inhabitants go back more than 6,000 years with the discovery in the 1960s of remains between Ébange and Uckange; located in a highly disputed area in the Middle Ages, the commune of Uckange was in turn Luxembourgish, German and French over the centuries.
