When you arrive in this commune, which has the oldest bastide in the Landes, you cannot miss the abbey church and the botanical garden, which evokes the very name of Pimbo, meaning "thyme" in Gascon. You can admire its farms and monuments located on the last foothills of the Pyrenees: the collegiate church of Saint-Barthélemy with its portal and sculpted decorations from the 12th century, the wooden crucifix from the 17th century, the foundation of which is readily attributed to Charlemagne, and the remains of the old fortress from the 13th century. Finally, the village is also known for the expression Va à Pimbo (Go to Pimbo ), which means that the person who receives it should go to the devil, to the end of the world or to hell!
