According to the Messinian chronicler Philippe de Vigneulles, the village of Saint-Julien-lès-Metz already existed in Gallo-Roman times. The different periods of history indicate a painful past where the village has always known how to rebuild itself: wars, destruction, looting, fire, annexation, bombings... The rural village of the 1950s has given way to an attractive and authentic suburban town.
