Ousse and Suzan belonged to the barony of Brassenx. The two communes were reunited in 1846. You will discover some devotional fountains: Sainte-Rose or d'Agès (milk crusts), Saint-Jean (eczema) or Saint-Girons (rheumatism). Every year, on September 29th, the famous Saint-Michel fair, whose origins date back to the Middle Ages, is held in the heart of the Landes forest. At the time, farmers and shepherds traditionally went there with their oxen or on stilts. They renewed leases, placed themselves as servants or sought their beloved. The shepherds would complete the bells of their flocks, selling sheep, mules or socks they had knitted. It was also an opportunity to meet and party the way we like to do it in the department. Nowadays, this huge sell-off takes place on the paths under the pines, with more than 600 merchants offering their products and no less than 35,000 visitors.
