Last December, a weekend of festivities open to the public celebrated the reopening of the Departmental Salt Museum in Marsal. Labelled "Musée de France", the site deals with the history of white gold through the different mining techniques that were used from Prehistory to the 18th century. Among the many treasures that the public can discover in the museum are archaeological archives, testimonies of daily life related to salt production as well as artistic and historical works. After several months of work where the Moselle Museum has benefited from a major facelift, various areas have been restructured such as the patio of the Porte de France, the shop, the pedagogical room and important point, an access for people with reduced mobility is now made available. The museography has also been reworked, in particular to incorporate the use of digital technology. The visits are now punctuated by tablets with educational support, 3D helmets, a playful and interactive space and the projection of a documentary film. Reopening in spring 2020.
