This commune located near Dax had 3,174 inhabitants at the last census. Remarkable heritage with the 11th century Saint-Etienne church, of Romanesque origin. In 1991, during excavations, an urn containing the heart of Roger Ducos, a politician who died in Ulm in 1816, was found. Roger Ducos was Napoleon Bonaparte's 3rd consul and later Count of the Empire. Also noteworthy, in front of the town hall, is the presence of a milestone, a remnant of the old Roman road.
