A perched village, its name comes from its high position on a spur. In 1273, Lesperon belonging to the parish of Bias belonged to the King of England. The castle of Lesperon, in the Souquet, was built in 1325 by Amanieu d'Albret, the ancestor of Henry IV, that castle was then a lair of robbers. At the top of the village is a massive church with a robust, fortified steeple of the th century. This municipality was an important step on the road to Santiago de Compostela.
