Its Latin name, Terra Granata, means "land rich in grain", in other words, fertile in cereals. The bastide town of Grenade-sur-l'Adour was founded in 1322 by the English. The heart of the land of Gascon opulence, Grenade-sur-l'Adour is synonymous with gastronomy. From the Adour bridge, you'll discover the charm of old houses with wooden balconies. From its origins, the town has retained its quadrangular square, which still features angle irons to the south and east. Rue des Capucins is lined with old houses whose galleries look out over the river. Its picturesque little streets are a delight to stroll through, and highlight the existence of ancient fortifications.
