Situated in the very east of the Landes department, close to the borders with the Gers and Lot-et-Garonne départements, Gabarret has a rich past of which it retains very few vestiges. Indeed, only the Maison du Gabardan, built in 1456 and now home to the tourist office, survived the Wars of Religion. Today, this half-timbered, terracotta-brick building is a showcase for local crafts: local products, foie gras, confit, floc, armagnac, vin de pays, cassoulet... And if you're looking for exercise, the commune is a delight for walkers and cyclists, thanks to its many well-maintained footpaths.
