Would you like to discover or rediscover the one and only madeleine of Dax? To do so, you have to go through the door of the little shop of Maison Cazelle. With its old-fashioned charm from the beginning of the 20th century and its retro décor, it is one of the oldest in the town. Founded in 1906, this family-run business has built its reputation on the famous madeleine de Dax, sold in pretty blue or pink cardboard boxes. The recipe has been jealously guarded for five generations, and today by Sébastien and Clément. It is a must for all gourmets!

The family farm is located in the heart of the Chalosse region, in the small village of Clermont. Since 1945, the ducks have been raised according to the rules of the art and transformed into products that have won multiple awards at the Concours Général Agricole in Paris. Semi-cooked duck foie gras, whole foie gras, whole duck breast, duck liver filling, aiguillettes, duck paupiettes... And also: vegetables in jars. In the heart of Dax, on the site of the former Friand, this open, modern space, the work of a Catalan designer, takes on the codes of Spanish markets: authentic, friendly and festive. The latest addition to the Barajas Primeurs family is in Dax, managed by Stéphanie and Stéphane Fouchet! And good news, it's the biggest of the 3 stores. The drive-through is not yet on the menu, but you will be able to stock up on all the good products you usually find, including Folk sauces (Landes), Pikoka hummus... There's also a rich assortment of organic sourdough bread and a canning cabinet with local fresh produce preserves. Take advantage of a 10% discount on Tuesdays.

Attention all chocolate lovers! Hugues Gaudet has not one, but 2 boutiques, or rather a 100% chocolate workshop. Here, you won't find any pastries, but chocolates in bulk or in boxes, snacks, beggars and numerous chocolate bars, including for diabetics. You'll love the chocolate ball that melts in contact with hot milk, releasing a marshmallow teddy bear, the Dax bullring medal to take home as a souvenir, and the P'tit Landais ball cone. Snacks are also available.

Ttotte (pronounced "tiotié", Joseph in Basque) and Stéphanie run this pretty chocolate shop under the arcades of the Splendid. The Maître Artisan Chocolatier, who cut his teeth at the prestigious Maison Pariès, has even opened a second store, La Fabrique de Ttotte, in Saint-Geours-de-Maremne. Specialities include: peanut tuiles, orangettes, chocolate chouchous, croq'maïs... And l'Or de Ttotte, a dark chocolate made from a blend of beans from Bolivia, Ecuador and Venezuela, combined with the texture of South American brown sugar.

Christian Lanuque, breeder of foie gras ducks on the family farm in Poyartin, is at the origin of the "Terres d'Adour" concept. Recently opened in the pedestrian streets of Dax, Comme autrefois les Landes is THE new gourmet store in the town center! At Balme, truffles are a family affair that began over a century ago in the Vaucluse region. Maison Balme was created in 2013 when Thomas Balme and Mikel Poueyts decided to combine Provençal truffles with Basque gastronomy. In Dax, as in Biarritz, Anglet or Bordeaux, push open the doors of Les Halles to discover all the specialties of Maison Balme. Fresh truffles, truffle charcuterie, truffle condiments, truffle preserves... There's even a duck corner and lots of gift ideas! You can eat on site.

Beneath its glass frame, wooden framework and zinc roof, Les Halles de Dax is home to some twenty retailers, including Privilège Gascon (South-West produce), Eco-ferme de Téthieu (organic greengrocer), Crèmerie Dacquoise, Cave Dourthe, Experiment'halle (microbrewery) and Maison Lafitte Foie Gras.
