Jarville was long dependent on the parishes of Heillecourt and Bonsecours. For the first time in the writings of Jarcivilla, it was in 1314. Located on the royal road connecting Paris to Strasbourg, the city became famous in the th century and was one of the theatres of the memorable battle of Nancy that pitted the Duke of Lorraine's armies to Charles the Bold. Jarville-la-Malgrange was home to Catherine de Bourbon, Stanislas Leszczynski and the family of Marshal Ney. An architectural side, the city has a certain heritage with the castle of Montaigu, which houses the Museum of History of the Iron and nearby, the domaine de Renémont, an illustrious seminar with its Visconti facade. At the end of the city, the gates Jean Lamour opened onto the park and the buildings of the college of La, located on the very places where the castle of Leopold 1 er followed by Stanislas. Located at the gates of Nancy, it has long been the place of forges, steel, textile, mechanical, food, electrical and chemical industries.
