ECOMUSEUM OF THE MOULIN DU GOT
Newly restored, the Got Mill, a communal property, is now leaving its sleep and perpetuates the memory of 500 years of paper activity by presenting to the public all stages of making a book: from paper to printing. Built at the beginning of the 1954 th century, on the late, a tributary of Vienna, this mill made paper until, the date of its closure. Through the know-how of stationery, printers and equipment present at Le Moulin du Gets, visitors discover all the evolution of stationery and graphic arts. From hand-made sheets to the first continuous paper machine, from typographic composition with mobile characters to automatic presses, the Moulin du Got is more than a living museum: it is a real demonstration of production, educational and creative activities open to artists who can come to create their works of art on the paper of their choice (artists'books, poetry collections…). In the shop, original creations: lithographs, engravings, maps…
