THE CASTLE
This castle has a children's room and a library available for loan
It was originally a medieval fortress whose presence is attested as early as the 11th century. Rebuilt entirely in the 15th century, only part of this period remains. After undergoing several alterations over the centuries, the castle became the property of the commune in 1936. It is adorned with panels of reused stained-glass windows, of Flemish and Germanic origin, and three sculpted fireplaces, including a monumental one on the first floor. The latter is completely renovated (the Georges Emmanuel Clancier space). It houses a children's room and a library available for loan. The second floor is reserved for exhibitions. At the entrance to the beautiful landscaped park that surrounds it, there is a "montjoie" (oratory), identical to the one in front of the village church. The castle, which can be seen in its pond, offers the passer-by a very beautiful picture. Hikers are numerous to cross the park and go around the pond. It is also one of the stops of the Limousin festival Coquelicontes.
