Montrol-Sénard is a small rural commune with fewer than 300 inhabitants. It's a delight to stroll along its flower-filled lanes and follow the trail of its "rural nostalgia" eco-museum, which evokes country life in the early 20th century. You'll discover a number of sites, including the "chabatz d'entrar" house and its stable-cellar, the bakehouse, the washhouse, the local school, the pig and chicken shed, the woodshed, the shoemaker's workshop and the blacksmith's forge. These sites are open to visitors free of charge from early May to mid-November, and guided tours are also available for a fee. This authentic Limousin village makes a pleasant stopover.
