Magnac-Laval is famous for its pilgrimage of Saint Maximin, patron saint of the parish, built around the year 1000 and one of the oldest in Limousin. This procession of the Nine Leagues, which tradition dates back to the 4th century, known as the "Nine Leagues", the longest in the world, takes place every Whit Monday. The departure is made in the night from Sunday to Monday and the participants arrive on Monday evening, after having covered about fifty kilometres through fields and woods!
