ADRIEN DUBOUCHÉ NATIONAL MUSEUM
A museum showcasing the evolution of ceramics around the world, it also houses a prestigious collection of Limoges porcelain
If you're passionate about ceramics in general and Limoges porcelain in particular, a visit to this museum is an absolute must. Installed since 1900 in a building built specifically to house its collections, it bears the name of one of its former directors, Adrien Dubouché, who undoubtedly deserves this honor as he considerably enriched the museum's collections, donating thousands of objects of his own. Following an exceptional architectural and museographic renovation, the museum has doubled in size. It now extends over the former School of Decorative Arts, located behind the original museum. From Antiquity to the present day, you'll discover the different techniques and the evolution of ceramics around the world. Two rooms are devoted to the prestigious Limoges porcelain collection. On the same level, push open the door to the glassworks, where some remarkable pieces are on display. In the vast, luminous reception hall, you'll find the boutique/bookshop. All year round, the museum offers exhibitions, lectures and activities for adults and children. Museum Mondays" offer themed tours of the collection accompanied by a lecturer from the Musées Nationaux network, with tea offered at the end of the tour.
