ST. EUTROPIUS CHURCH
The Church Saint-Eutrope is a major building of Romanesque art in Limousin: one of the few to have preserved its original frescoes (th century). Discoveries under plaster walls in 1986, they reveal an iconography of unique richness in Europe. On the side of the facade are the scenes of the creation of Adam and Eve in the presence of the Trinity, the Nativity, the illustration of Vices, that of the torture of Saint Eutrope. On the walls of the lower sides and the first span, the restoration work revealed identical themes dealing with the lives of several holy and holy martyrs. Savvy philatelists know that the drawing of these frescoes gave rise to a special series of stamps issued in 1997. With the church, the priory deserves a small visit: open to the public in summer, he presents various exhibitions and local crafts. See also the fountain dedicated to Saint Eutrope.
