The Commune was the stronghold of the seigneury of Les Cars. The latter's château was a fortified house converted in the early 16th century. It is one of the earliest manifestations of the "First Renaissance" in the Limousin. It was burnt down during the French Revolution. The remains consist mainly of two corner towers and pavilions. The town hall has a permanent exhibition on the site, including a digital reconstruction of the château, enabling visitors to take a virtual tour as it would have looked in the 16th century. Guided tours of the château are also available (for more information, call the tourist office on 05 55 58 28 44).
