CHURCH OF THE NATIVITY OF ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST
The Romanesque church of Billanges is composed of a single nave close to 20 metres long. It is a fortified religious building: the two foothills at the corner of the bedside are surmounted by échauguettes with niches and meurtrières that are also found above the entrance door. Inside, there is a Virgin to the th century child and two shrines from Grandmont Abbey. One is a magnificent statue of Saint Etienne of Wall, standing clothed with a dawn and a rich dalmatique, the bare head and the shaved skull, bearing only the monastery crown. Both arms support a book-shaped reliquary, placed on a cushion, where one sees the reproduction of the Holy cross reliquary. The statue is made of gilded bronze and copper, adorned with champlevés enamels and centre carved stones. The other is a wooden reliquary bras arm covered with gold soaked stones dating from the th century.
