A small hill dominating the village of Dognon and the valley of Taurion is in reality a "feudal motte", a raised seat of a fortified castle constructed of granite and wood around the year 1000. This place gave part of its name to the commune (Dognon comes from "donjon" (donhon en Occitan). At the Dognon, a excavation site has enabled us to update a fortified set whose construction has been carried out in several stages: the late th-century setting of a motte castle, from the th to the th of a stone building, from th to th building of a large stone castle. There is nothing left of that. Note the bridge of Dognon built in 1930 in reinforced concrete, the Bow-string type (according to the technique of the bow arch).
