The village was sacked in the 14th century by the Black Prince. This commune at the foot of the Puy de Sauvagnac is known, on the one hand, as one of the cradles of the Limousin cattle breed (as shown by the numerous competition plaques on the farm of the Domaine du Vignaud) and, on the other hand, for its arboretum.
