The church of Bonnac-la-Côte deserves a stop. Built in the 12th century and rebuilt two centuries later, it has a 12th century Limousin bell tower and portal on the west façade. Inside, note a statue of Saint Jacques in polychrome stone from the 16th century and a Virgin and Child, seated, in painted wood from the 17th century. A few kilometres away is the Château de Leychoisier, now Castel-Camping. During the Revolution, it belonged to the Marquis de Sombreuil, governor of the Invalides in Paris. The latter, condemned to the scaffold, was saved by his daughter Maurille, who agreed to let him live, to drink the blood of the previous convict. This filial love was immortalized by Victor Hugo in his work "Odes et Ballades". The Marquis de Sombreuil nevertheless died shortly afterwards before the Revolutionary Court. Nice walks around the hamlet of Salesse.
