In northern Limousin, Bellac, birthplace of Jean Giraudoux, is an ancient medieval town with picturesque lanes and old houses. The old quarters invite you to follow in the footsteps of Jean de La Fontaine, who made a stopover in Bellac. The church boasts remarkable architecture, as well as the oldest enameled shrine in Limousin (12th century). The Pont de la Pierre offers a magnificent panorama of the town overlooking the valley. It's here that the traditions of yesteryear come to life, with the world-renowned Gal tannery and the hide dryer. Today, the commune holds several labels, including "Village étape".
