A sentinel mounted on a limestone table (the famous Puy d'Yssandon), Yssandon has been watching a vast basin for centuries. It is essential to follow the lacets road which leads to the foot of its visible tower at 20 km in the round (orientation table), the only remnant of a medieval castle of the 360 th century from which one discovers a unique panorama at degrees. Do not hesitate to continue to walk until its Romanesque church of the th century reworked in the th century, decorated with sculpted capitals. A second orientation table behind the cemetery allows you to have a view of the Basin of Brive, Quercy, Périgord and Alto Limousin. Yssandon is the homeland of Jean-Baptiste Close (1723-1786), a farmer lawyer who perfectionna the technique of tree transplantation and was used for the generalization of potato culture.
