The discovery of Late Bronze and Early Iron Age pottery testifies to the village's long history as a settlement. On the banks of the Luy de Béarn, Amou is classified as a green vacation resort and a flowery site. Amou's courtyards and gardens open onto the narrow streets of yesteryear and squares shaded by plane trees over a hundred years old. Of Roman origin, the Saint-Pierre des Luys church is made up of heterogeneous elements from different eras. The Jean Lafittau bullring, built in 1954, is the venue for bullfighting shows that liven up local festivals, especially in summer. Visit the Tourist Information Office to plan your stay.
