Sports and leisure activities Meymac

Covering an area of 42 ha, this artificial lake was put into water in 1984, fed by the Farges stream. Swimming is supervised in summer. The leisure centre offers a number of nautical activities: sailing, windsurfing, rowing, canoeing, kayaking, children's playground, rental of dinghies, pedal boats, rowing boats. Fishermen will settle on the beaches to tease trout, roach and carp. The four-kilometre trail that borders the lake is passable on foot or by ATV. A fitness trail and a "leaves-in-leaves" hiking trail (18 km) await the more sporty. Bar-grill on site.

From spring to autumn, this equestrian centre offers rides lasting several days in the Limousin mountains, from the Monédières to the Parc Naturel Régional de Millevaches. The Ferme d'Eymanoux also offers introductory or advanced courses in horse-riding on a package basis and courses lasting from half a day to a week, for members and non-members alike. A programme of activities (carnival, festivities, competitions...) is organised throughout the year. A charming four-room gîte with two bedrooms can be rented (typical architecture of the region, terrace and private garden of 280 m).

A great classic for hiking in the region. This 17 km long walking and mountain bike circuit penetrates into the heart of the Limousin Mountains through the forests, crossing springs, clearings and thousand-year-old peat bogs. Depending on the starting point you choose, you will either make the full ascent to Mont Bessou or you will enjoy the view of distant horizons and then plunge into this ocean of nature. From one valley to another, don't miss the opportunity to discover the sites of heritage and tourist interest of the commune of Meymac in a different way: the Longeyroux peat bog, the Farges viaduct, the panoramic tower of Mont Bessou, the Gallo-Roman ruins of Les Cars.
