In Lubersac, the old Archpriest's house, place de l'Horloge, was decorated during the Renaissance by Italian artists (arcades, sculptures of a gentleman and a lady...). It now houses the tourist office and the exhibition centre of sacred art. You have to push the doors of the Romanesque church of Saint-Etienne and discover the very rich series of historiated capitals that decorate the columns of the chevet, the apse and the apsidioles. At n° 9 Place de l'Eglise is the birthplace of the general of Empire Souham. In the village, the Château du Verdier, built in the 15th century and restored in the 19th century, was the birthplace of Abbot Mugner, confidant of many writers of the Belle Epoque. Very attached to his native town, he said that "the shadow of the towers of the castle of Lubersac had nourished his romanticism".
