It is one of the many small villages of character in the region. This narrow village, all in granite, shelters houses of character, a mill, the church Saint-Pardoux of the 15th century, which itself hides a treasure: the reliquary shrine of Saint Etienne. Gimel overlooks the gorges of the Montane (or Gimel) where a spectacular triptych of waterfalls roars and has a magnificent view over the valley. In the charming little streets, you will come across the shops of art craftsmen. In the window: blown glass, enamels, ceramics, terracotta, jewellery..In summer, Gimel en scène, a sound and light show put on by a group of enthusiastic volunteers, brings the village to life and highlights its heritage and history.
