Travel Guide Affieux

This village, overlooking a beautiful Corrèze landscape, deserves a visit not only for the quality of the enhancement of its rich heritage but also for the culinary delights of its inn. The castle, the church and the landscaping of the square form a remarkable architectural ensemble. The 17th century castle is not open to the public but its towers and entrance porch can be admired. The Saint-Pardoux church was built with beautiful local stone from the 12th to the 14th century. The chapel and the altarpiece are from the 18th century. To see also: the devotional fountain of Saint Pardoux which cures the evils of the eyes; the flowered wash-house, the old small station of the Transcorrézien and its few meters of rails. Walks to do, especially in autumn, around the Linâtre pond and to discover the stones "des Folles" and "des druides", both sources of legends and located near the GR46 - 440.
