In the last century, Vialas had its hour of glory. At that time, a quarter of France's silver production was extracted from its silver lead mines. Around 1895, the fame of the Protestant healer Vignes sparked off a real pilgrimage. Hundreds of Swiss travelled by train to consult him. Today, if we still travel far away, it is more for the gastronomic stage. The temple, built in 1612, is, with that of Collet-de-Dèze, one of the two oldest Protestant buildings in the region. From Vialas, a path allows to reach the abandoned hamlet of Gourdouze by a steep slope of Mount Lozère.
