In this historical site of the Camisard War, there is an old silk spinning mill, still in good condition. In the centre, the old houses are grouped together on either side of the Gardon. On a high terrace, the Romanesque church, built in schist, retains its character despite the destruction and restoration. The temple has existed since 1560, making it the oldest in Lozère. At its origin, it was a chapel dedicated to the Virgin Mary built in 1063. At the revocation of the Edict of Nantes, it became a church again, then burnt down by the Camisards. Sold as a national asset during the Revolution, it was again used for Protestant worship after the Concordat.
