In the heart of the pastures of the Margeride, Saint-Paul, baptized the Cold by its inhabitants, bears its name well. The winds blow all around. A little outside, an isolated church resists them and offers to whoever wants to admire them superb landscapes. Further north, crossing the fishy Ance, we arrive at Le Chayla: a sumptuous castle, which had no less than 365 windows. Apart from the well-marked site, there is almost nothing left of it today. The castle was bought, when it was already in danger of falling into ruin, by Brother Hilarion, who created an insane asylum there, which was rather innovative at the time. It was closed in 1850.
