In the heart of the Médoc, on what is called the Médoc moor, between the ocean and the estuary, Sainte-Hélène is about thirty kilometres from Bordeaux and 16 kilometres from Lacanau. It is also home to part of the cycle track that links Bordeaux to Lacanau (built on the old railway line). In Sainte-Hélène, you will discover an eponymous church rebuilt in 1927 and a proud representative of the neo-gothic style dating back to the Middle Ages, the Château Bordier and the amusing villa Quand-même et mépris, built in the 1930s by the charcutier A. Naturel (who was cheated out of the land and decided to build this villa anyway).
