Legend is that the first inhabitant of Station was a veteran of the Roman Legion of Augustus who would have received lands on which the present village is located. This veteran would have called Venerianicus, which would have given the current name of the village by phonetic evolution. Station is just 12 km away from Montpellier and close to Castries and has been overtaken by urbanization. Instead of passing through the two main routes that the belt, one towards Nimes, the Other towards Alès, we must not hesitate to venture into the small streets that have still preserved the charm of yesteryear, to find a small air of Languedoc village.
