Nestled in the hollow of the vineyards, this circular village, heir to the Roman town planning of a thousand years of history, offers a magnificent view of the Black Mountains and the Pyrenees. Its 11th and 12th century castle is the heart of the village, it forms a beautiful ensemble, despite various influences: 11th and 12th century walls, modern crenellation, Renaissance fireplaces. Its grey stones, still bruised, keep the memory of the flames lit by Simon de Montfort, during the war of the Cathars, in the year 1209. The parish church is from the 14th century, vaulted, but with some Romanesque reuse. The narrow and full streets will lead you from the boulevards and their beautiful bourgeois houses to the church square and then to the castle, passing by some beautiful old gates and facades and remains of ramparts. Hikers and sports enthusiasts will wander through the vineyards to discover the vintages, or the garrigue and its scents, to finish near the waterfalls
