Located at the northern end of the Thau Lagoon, between the hills of La Moure and the wine-growing plain, Poussan is a typical Languedoc village, with its "circulade", where old-fashioned alleys are intermingled. Within the city limits, Poussan has the castles of Montlaur, Malbois and La Garenne, which cannot be visited but can be admired from the outside. The village has existed since time immemorial, as evidenced by theoppidum on the hill of Puech Gayes, just off the road to Montbazin. Traces of Roman villas abound as well as tombs with rich funerary furniture. An unavoidable passage to plunge into the era of the Middle Ages and discover remarkable buildings and architectural elements.
