Saint-Savin is an authentic commune with a charming church right in the middle of the village. This church, built in the 11th, 12th and 14th centuries, was a former5th-century monastery that was destroyed and rebuilt many times until it was bought by the Bishop of Tarbes in 1850. You can't visit the town without stopping off at Saint-Savin Abbey, an architectural masterpiece with a church featuring breathtaking murals. Saint-Savin is also located in the heart of a veritable kingdom for hikers, especially those who want to go from vineyards to forest in just a few steps.
