A few kilometers from Nissan-Lez-Ensérunes, Château la Vernède is an old beautiful Folie du Languedoc, a legacy of the golden age of wine merchants in the ^19th century. Dedicated to viticulture since antiquity, the estate is now preserved by the^5th generation of the Ribet family in the person of Jean-Marc Ribet. Under the vinification of Mr. Maurer, an Alsatian trained in Bordeaux, the AOC Coteaux-du-Languedoc vintages offer powerful and harmonious reds, revealing nuances of fruit, licorice and sweet spices.

Since 1995, when the cooperative opened, the Pays d'Ensérune winegrowers have combined tradition and innovation. Their 3,200-hectare vineyard, spread over 11 villages, features classic Mediterranean grape varieties such as carignan, grenache, muscat and cinsault, as well as AOPs such as Saint Chinian and Coteaux du Languedoc. Two tasting and sales cellars are available: one in Nissan-lez-Enserune and the other in Cazouls-lès-Béziers.
