There are only a few souvenir shops in Montpellier. That is why we really like this shop located just across the Esplanade, just a few steps from the Corum, the Fabre Museum and the Comédie. The shop, which was opened by Thierry, is well located in the busy centre of the city. These former stables of a private hotel has been meticulously renovated, making it a nice spot. Boutik R offers a variety of local specialities for both tourists and inhabitants of Montpellier: local handicrafts - made of old Montpellier earthenware, recognisable by its yellow background decorated with a blue flower - mosaic bulls, key rings... the choice is yours. The catering section is attractive: jam jars with Montpellier grapes, pineapple or bananas fosters, cold cuts and wines from the South. Thierry likes uncommon flavours and likes to welcome in his shop, beekeepers who produce, among other things, lemon or rhododendron honey. He also welcomes an organic local cannery offering blends such as artichoke with white pepper or dark chocolate with red peppers. It is the perfect place if you are looking for gift ideas and sweets. Recently, the shop has also opened a tapas bar with regional products.
