Founded in the 6thcentury BC by the Phocaeans, the town was once the largest port on the Thau Archipelago. A prestigious past, atypical buildings and remarkable relics await the gaze of strollers. Today, Mèze is a town where life is good. A must: shellfish and white wine tasting in one of the restaurants adjacent to its charming port. In summer, traditional festivals keep Mèze dancing with their rounds of jousting, totemic animals, brasucades and tambourine playing. During the day, you can stroll through the garrigue and in the evening, enjoy oysters with your feet in the sand. A pleasant stopover.
