Situated on a hillside, Lunas, a medieval village characteristic of the Languedoc region, was built around its castle and church. You have to wander through the streets to discover its treasures of the past: a 10th century castle, dovecotes from the Middle Ages, the 5th and 6th century church of Saint-Georges with its Visigothic tradition and the Notre-Dame-de-Nize chapel. A few steps away, situated at 700 m altitude, the view from the Saint-Amans chapel deserves a stop, for its splendid panorama of the Escandorgue, the Mediterranean, the Pyrenees, the Caroux and the Grands Causses. A little further on, you can discover the sacrificial stone monolithic block constituting the fixed part of an oil press and Visigothic sarcophagi.
