Geographically well established on the axis of the Mare valley and the Orb valley, Hérépian owes its development, as early as the 13th century, to the important circulation of foodstuffs and silver ores coming from the neighboring communes. Classified as a "Métiers d'Art" town, Hérépian has a bell foundry, witness to an ancestral tradition. This tourist site, crisscrossed by rivers and lakes, lives to the rhythm of the seasons and the cultivation of the vine that has shaped its landscape for more than 2,000 years. Hiking is possible because the village is located on the route of the green way of the Haut-Languedoc, Passa païs, which is marked out by stages of tourist interest
