Founded at the sources of the Cesse river, this small village is immersed in the middle of an ocean of beech and chestnut trees. Nestled at an altitude ranging from 500 to 800 metres, it owes its name to the schistose subsoil loaded with iron oxide which gives it its characteristic colours. A geological mecca, the town also hosts trilobites representative of the oldest fossils that can be observed in the country. Finally, its superb green setting and breathtaking panoramas will charm you.
