A haven of peace at the foot of the Séranne mountain, Brissac was once a formidable stronghold, not least because of its feudal castle. The lower part of the village is much appreciated for its immense park, through which the Avèze flows peacefully. A little way from the village, you can admire the Chapelle de Saint Etienne d'Issensac and its Roman bridge. This Gothic bridge, built in the Middle Ages, was used by pilgrims on the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela and by merchants to cross the river; it is a listed historic monument. When the weather's fine, you'll have no trouble bathing here.
