Cathedral of Saint-Nazaire-et-Saint-Celse, with frescoes from the 14th century and a splendid 17th century organ case.
Emblematic of Béziers, the Cathedral of Saint-Nazaire and Saint-Celse is anchored on a rocky promontory, dominating the city and its surroundings. The Southern Gothic style building stands on the remains of a Roman temple and a Romanesque church destroyed during the Crusade of 1209. Impressive by its volumes, the building shelters frescos of the XIVth century, and a splendid organ case of the XVIIth century. Its cloister, rebuilt in the 14th century, was never completed.

il faut monter au sommet !
accès gratuit par des marches au sommet, fatigant mais quelle vue !!!!!! à faire

A visiter absolument, du haut du clocher on a une belle vue de Béziers. visiter aussi le cloître et le jardin des évèques. Des travaux sont en cours pour y accéder de Canterelles via une passerelles et un ascenceur

Superbe cathédrale forteresse et méconnue. C'est intéressant de visiter le cloître et de monter à la tour du clocher, mais il vaut mieux se renseigner en avance sur les horaires ou sur s'il y a des travaux (cloître).

Belle cathédrale... les 158 marches à gravir pour se retrouver en haut du clocher sont une véritable épreuve mais la vue que cette ascension vous réserve est juste fantastique. A faire armé d'un bon appareil photo...
